To cater to the ever growing demands for software professionals in the emerging field of computer software, the Department of Computer Applications was started in the year 2001. The department was started with two courses namely Master of Computer Application (MCA) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) having 60 and 30 seats respectively.
The department has been continually growing since the beginning. Currently the department also runs a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program along with the aforesaid programs. The current intake of MCA is 66 (60+6 EWS seats) and that of BCA is 330 (300+30 EWS seats). The syllabus of the program has been designed with the help of experienced IT professionals and academicians from the renowned institutes. It incorporates subjects from the field of Computer Science, Management and Communication. The department has 4 state of the art laboratories equipped with the latest software. The syllabus of the program is monitored and updated on a regular basis.

The Department of Computer Applications was established in 2001 with a vision of empowering the youth with the most sought after skill set of developing computer software. The department offers two year Master of Computer Application (MCA) and three years Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) along with the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The department has a team of experienced and motivated faculty members. Our primary goal is to equip students with a balanced academic and practical experience that enables them to serve a plethora of industry needs. The curriculum is designed keeping in mind the needs of the software industry and is updated regularly to incorporate the innovative technologies and continuously changing demands of the industry. The department has its large building which houses well equipped state of art laboratory facilities and classrooms. I am pretty sure that the students of the department will bring glory and prove the efforts of the department by showing a high level of professional competence in their respective field.
